With the help of women poets from across the UK, we have developed a network of dynamic events and evergreen resources specifically for women poets. This is an evolving project, intended to respond to women poets’ need for a non-competitive, peer-to-peer space as a counterpoint to the Women Poets’ Prize.
In October 2021, we launched the Women Poets' Network Library, which you can view here.
In 2022, we received a grant of £20,000 from Arts Council England to expand the Library, deliver a programme of in-person and online Events, and create the Women Poets' Network, which women poets can join as a subscribed Member from just £15 per annum. Paid membership grants you free access to our events, and a listing in an online directory of women poets connecting up across the UK, across all ages, locations, and disciplines.

EVENTS
WPN Members get free entry to all our events, from our brilliant Open Mic & Practical Chats to our insightful Webinars. Your membership fee will pay for itself in no time!
Regular events include:
- Inspirational webinars focused on how to thrive as a woman poet. Each webinar features a panel of industry speakers, a Q&A, and a short, practical workshop session.
- Fallow creative workshops explore ways to nourish your writing through other artforms. Workshop leaders are commissioned from within the WPN membership.
- Regular online open mics for WPN members and other women poets to share their work in a relaxed and friendly environment. Each open mic includes a practical chat where we share knowledge on all aspects of creative and professional practice.
MEMBERS DIRECTORY
WPN members get their own personal listing in the Women Poets’ Network Directory, where they can connect with other members. The Directory is searchable by name or by using filters to narrow your search to connect with poets in your region or poets with similar interests.
WOMEN POETS’ LIBRARY
The Women Poets’ Library is a collection of digital resources created by leading women poets. You’ll find articles under the headings of ‘Craft’, ‘Graft’, ‘The Knowledge’ and ‘Sustain’. Each focuses on a different aspect of life as a woman poet.
EXCLUSIVE FACEBOOK GROUP
Our private Facebook Group is where you’ll find a lively community of 1000+ women poets supporting and celebrating each other. It’s a great place for sharing opportunities and resources, as well as engaging in conversations about poetry.
Our brilliant WPN members support other women poets by helping us to keep our Women Poets’ Library and WPN Facebook group free to those who are unable to subscribe.
