The Rebecca Swift Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Degna Stone as its new project manager, in an exciting week for the charity as we wrap a vital crowdfunding campaign, Empowering Women Poets, exceeding our original target of £10,000.
Stone joins the Foundation as the successor to Kirsten Luckins, who has been with the charity since the start of 2021, herself succeeding Victoria Adukwei Bulley, who spent three years in post as the first project manager, overseeing the inaugural Women Poets’ Prize.
Degna said:
“I’m excited to take over from Kirsten Luckins as the new project manager at the Rebecca Swift Foundation. RSF is a brilliant organisation providing vital support to women poets. I can’t wait to get started!”
Of the appointment, Chair of Trustees Cathy James OBE said:
“We are so lucky to have secured Degna for our Project Manager role, they have the credentials to do a stellar job and follows in some seriously formidable footsteps. We are sorry to see Kirsten leave the charity and on behalf of the Trustees I’d like to thank her for her extremely hard work, inspiration and dedication throughout her time with us. The charity would not be where we are without her. We wish her well in all her future endeavours. We are really looking forward to working with Degna and achieving more for the community of women poets we are aiming to help through the hard work of our small team.”
